I love this Artist - Andre Matos
Andre Matos (September 14, 1971-June 8, 2019) was a Brazilian vocalist, producer, pianist, and composer. He founded the famous heavy metal bands Viper, Angra, and Shaman, and has been devoting himself to his solo project since 2006.
Matos grew up in São Paulo, Brazil, and began to take an interest in music at the age of 10 when he received his first piano from his parents. After, he joined his first band, Viper.
Viper era "A Cry From The Edge"
Matos continued to be a vocalist, but he was always keen on improving his keyboard instrument skills as well as vocals. He became interested in classical music and was educated at a music school specializing in orchestral conducting and composition.
After completing his music education, Matos formed the world-famous band "Angra" in 1991, which later became known as the treasure of Brazil. And with the first album "Angels Cry" released in 1993, the band became famous in Japan and Europe.
Angra era "Time"
Angra's style has gained worldwide acclaim for establishing a unique style that mixes classic heavy metal, classical music, and Brazilian folk music, melodic speed metal inspired by German Helloween.
However, in 2001, due to a disagreement between guitar players Rafael Bittencourt and Kiko Loureiro regarding the direction of the band, he left Angra with bassist Luis Mariutti and drummer Ricardo Confessori.
Then, they formed a new band "Shaman" with bassist Luis Mariutti's younger brother Hugo Mariutti as a new guitarist.
Shaman era "Fairy Tale"
They released two albums
Matos had a good career, but this time due to a disagreement with drummer Ricardo Confessori.
He left the band again.
And this time, he formed a new band "Andre Matos" and released
the album "Time To Be Free".
This album is packed with a lot of symphonic elements reminiscent of Angra's first album. In addition to Brazil and Europe, the album is a huge success with 4th place on the Russian chart and 2nd place in Japan.
Andre Matos era "Letting Go"
After that, he produced two albums under the name of "Andre Matos".
In 2018, suddenly, the original band Shaman reunited with the original members to commemorate the 17th anniversary and announced the tour.
But in the summer of 2019,
He had a heart attack during the tour and suddenly passed away.
His life was turbulent, The traces he left are still alive in the hearts of people.
