What is Art?
Wikipedia says
"Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts (artworks), expressing the author's imaginative, conceptual ideas, or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power. "
Ok, I see.
More specifically, what is professional art?
In other words,
What are the deferences between art in the museum and art which is created by unrecognized artists?
I think the key is context and history.
When I was in Art College, I read Takashi Murakami's book(Geijutsu Kigyo Ron (The Art Entrepreneurship Theory)).
The book said like this
"Even excellent artwork is just self-satisfaction if there are no customers who pay for it and buy it.The customer wants it because work has a story.The fact is that world-class art is created after understanding the context and history.What is history?History means western art history."
Ok, I see.
Now I live in 2020 and I created this.
This work was influenced by western art history so much.
I would like to call it "New Action Painting"
Because "Action Painting" definition is like this.
"The paintings of the Action painters were not meant to portray objects per se or even specific emotions. Instead they were meant to touch the observer deep in the subconscious mind, evoking a sense of the primeval and tapping the collective sense of an archetypal visual language. This was done by the artist painting "unconsciously," and spontaneously, creating a powerful arena of raw emotion and action, in the moment. Action painting was clearly influenced by the surrealist emphasis on automatism which (also) influenced by psychoanalysis claimed a more direct access to the subconscious mind."

In Lightning strike Drawing, I tried to touch how nature(world) is.
The artist's intention and natural unintentional thing exist in the artwork.
That looks like life.
We try to control our life but some unintentional happens and effects our lives.
Artist tries to create something new always.
Unfortunately, my works don't have the recognition yet but it's fine.
The thing we can do is that we just enjoy creating art and make what we believe for the rest of life.
Recognition is not our decision.
Just let people decide.
Just enjoy your own way.
