When you sell or buy NFT, you should pay Gas fee for it.
Today I list example when you pay for Gas.
Gas fee paid by the NFT seller
First, let's start with the gas fee paid by the person selling (reselling) NFT.
1, When you list your work for the first time
2, When accepting an offer
3, When you save NFT metadata to IPFS
4, When you air-draw a work for a Giveaway project
5, When you cancel a fixed price sale
6, Canceling an auction
1, OpenSea charges a gas fee when you list your work for the first time.
Once you have paid the first time, you can sell your NFT for free the second and subsequent times!
2, When you accept an offer
Gas is charged when you receive an offer for an NFT you are selling and accept the offer to sell at that price.
When you accept an offer, you will be charged for gas.
3, When storing NFT metadata in IPFS
When you store NFT metadata (work name/image data/work summary, etc.) on IPFS (distributed server) instead of OpenSea's server, you will be charged gas per work.
When stored in IPES, the metadata is frozen and you will not be able to delete or edit the work.
4, When you do airdropping a work on Giveaway
When you do airdrop your NFT for free through a Giveaway, you will be charged for gas to send your work.
5, When canceling a fixed price sale
When you cancel a fixed price sale, you will be charged the gas fee.
If you delete the work itself, no gas fee will be charged.
When you want to "stop selling" or "raise the price" of a work that has not yet sold, it is more economical to delete the work and register it a new, instead of canceling it.
If you want to keep the sales history of your work, pay the gas fee and cancel!
6, When canceling an auction
When you decide to cancel an auction and decide not to sell the work, you will have to pay the gas fee.
Gas fee to be paid by NFT buyers
Next, let's look at the gas fee paid by NFT purchasers.
1, When you purchase at a fixed price NFT
2, When canceling an offer
3, When exchanging black ETH for purple ETH
4, When exchanging black ETH for red ETH
1, When buying a piece at a fixed price
When buying NFTs on sale at a fixed price, you will be charged for gas.
2, When you cancel an offer
When you make an offer for the NFT you want to buy or cancel the offer, you will be charged gas.
3, When exchanging black ETH for purple ETH
When you want to buy NFTs sold in Polygon, you need purple ETH.
You can exchange black ETH to purple ETH at OpenSea, and you will be charged gas when you exchange.
4, When exchanging from black ETH to red ETH
Red ETH (WETH) is required when purchasing NFTs through auctions.
When you exchange black ETH to red ETH at OpenSea, and you will be charged for gas when you exchange.
