I love this Artist - Gohar Dashti
Photographer Gohar Dashti experienced the war between Iran and Iraq in his childhood.
Her personal memory at that time influenced her work, her 2017 home series.
In her work, a large abandoned space is filled with plants.
She explains in an artist's statement
I think my picture gives a glimpse of the forces of nature that occur when the house is left unattended.
These photos were taken by Gohar Dashti around Tehran, not historic buildings.
It is an ordinary building where residents were forced to leave due to social problems.
Recalling that she visited her hometown and found the building of her former neighbor,
They left during the war and the house was devastated. But there were ferns on the balcony. In their absence, the plants thrived. If left unchecked, they would eventually cover the house. I suppose.
"People are transient and nature is immutable," she said in an artist statement.
